Wine Tasting featuring Coastal Wines

We’re not the only ones loving the beach during summertime. Some of the world’s most famous wine regions are in close proximity to the ocean, benefitting from coastal fog and cool breezes during the summer heatwave. We’ll look at some seaside wines and sip through a complimentary tasting. You will learn why the cool ocean breezes benefit the vines that grow at the seaside vineyards.

The benefit of being along the coast is that the cold, moist air gets pulled in and creates a layer of morning cloud cover, reducing temperatures and sun exposure on the grapes. This is why cool climate varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir excel in the coastal regions of the Central Coast AVA.
